Loop 101 in north Scottsdale only major Valley freeway closure this weekend
PHOENIX — A closure on a portion of Loop 101 in north Scottsdale is the only major freeway detour for a majority of the weekend for Valley drivers, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
The eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Scottsdale and Pima roads from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement repairs as part of a widening project. Eastbound Loop 101 on-ramps at 56th and 64th streets will also be closed.
Two restrictions on Interstate 10 begin Sunday night, with one occurring overnight between Sunday and Monday and the other continuing during the night throughout next week.
Eastbound I-10 will be narrowed to the two left lanes between the Loop 202 South Mountain Freeway and the Interstate 17 “Stack” interchange near downtown Phoenix from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Thursday nights for pavement repairs.

In the East Valley, both I-10 ramps to the Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway will be closed overnight from 8 p.m. Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement maintenance. The northbound Loop 101 on-ramp at McDowell Road will also be closed as part of the restriction.
