PHOENIX – Three people from out of state were arrested after a cache of illegal drugs, including nearly 100 pounds of methamphetamine, was found in their vehicle during a recent traffic stop in northern Arizona, authorities said Tuesday.

The Coconino County Sheriff’s Office pulled over the vehicle after observing a traffic violation around 2 p.m. Friday on eastbound Interstate 40 near Cosnino Road, east of Flagstaff, according to a press release.

The driver was a 35-year-old man from Colorado with a suspended license, according to the release. Two of the passengers – a 39-year-old man from Colorado and a 27-year-old woman from New Mexico — had arrest warrants out of Colorado. A 17-year-old juvenile male was also in the vehicle.

A search uncovered 97 pounds of meth and 7½ pounds of heroin along with fentanyl pills, cocaine and a stolen firearm, according to the release.

The three adults were arrested on drug, weapon and warrant charges and booked into Coconino County Jail.

No other information was released.
