3 shot, 1 seriously wounded after argument near downtown Phoenix

PHOENIX — Three people were hurt, one seriously, in a shooting early Tuesday near downtown Phoenix, authorities said.
A suspect fled the scene near 12th Avenue and Madison Street before police arrived around 5 a.m., Sgt. Ann Justus told KTAR News 92.3 FM.
Two men and a woman were shot, police said. One of the men and the suspect had been arguing before the shooting.
The second man and woman, “were also struck by gunfire,” Justus said, but were not involved in the altercation. Their injuries are not life-threatening.

Police have a description of the suspected gunman after watching surveillance video.
“It appears the suspect and victim knew each other,” Justus said.
No gun was found at the scene.
Several facilities serving homeless people are located in the area where the shootings occurred. It’s located between the state Capitol and the heart of downtown.
