PHOENIX — After more than a decade of construction, a unique desert oasis estate is finally up for sale in Scottsdale with a $10 million price tag.

Known as “The House of Doors,” the more than 7,000-square-feet estate sits on over an acre in Scottsdale’s Desert Mountain community and is described as livable art.

“The concept very early on was a solid form that’s cracked open to let in light and air while remaining secluded and serene,” Wendell Burnette, architect of “The House of Doors,” said in a press release. “It was about corralling a piece of the sky and creating privacy.”

The estate – which took 12 years to build – features a storefront glass door that opens to a central courtyard with a landscape filled with native desert vegetation and outlined with glass walls.

The great room is surrounded by four pivoting glass walls, offering panoramic views of the Valley and the sunsets Arizona is known for.

A 65-foot glass floor bridge leads to two guest suites, each with its own texture and history, according to the release.

The estate has three bedrooms, three full bathrooms, three half bathrooms, a pivoting shower wall that opens to a private courtyard with a firepit and a sunken bench as well as a gourmet stainless-steel kitchen with a butler’s pantry.

Other amenities include a media room, powder room, wine cellar, an audio-visual room, a fitness room, spa with built-in glass recliner, library and a breakfast/wet bar.

“This home is an architectural masterpiece, and a piece of livable art inspired by the Sonoran Desert,” listing agent Daniel Wolski of Russ Lyon Sotheby’s International Realty said in the release.

“Coined ‘The Desert Courtyard House’ and ‘The House of Doors’, this estate, with all its artistic details, is designed for quiet Sonoran solitude for a few but will accommodate memorable desert extravaganzas with enchanting experiences for many.”

The construction process of the estate included rammed earth, steel, glass and stone, according to the release.
