PHOENIX – A young woman and her unborn child were killed in a car collision Wednesday after she ran a red light in Phoenix, authorities said.
Phoenix police said Samantha Bean-Lansman, 26, ran a light near McDowell Road and 52nd Street around 2:20 p.m. and collided with a truck turning left at the intersection.
Two men in the truck, a 49-year-old and a 46-year-old, were not injured.
Lansman and her 8-month-old fetus were pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver of the truck remained at the accident site to answer police questions, Sgt. Maggie Cox said in an email.
