Arizona reports 484 new COVID-19 cases, no additional deaths Monday

PHOENIX – Arizona public health officials on Monday reported 484 new coronavirus cases and no additional deaths from COVID-19.
The state’s latest documented totals were 836,737 coronavirus infections and 16,745 fatalities, according to the Arizona Department of Health Services’ COVID-19 dashboard.
Key metrics used to gauge the extent of the pandemic are at or near the lowest they’ve been since last fall, and more than a quarter of Arizona’s population has received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine.
The ADHS dashboard showed that 2,904,159 COVID-19 vaccine doses have been administered in the state, with 1,831,456 people (25.5% of the state’s population) having received at least one shot and 1,136,413 people fully vaccinated.
As of Monday morning, vaccination appointments were available at the ADHS website.

The number of confirmed or suspected COVID-19 inpatients in the state’s hospitals increased by 16 overnight to 647 on Sunday, the second-fewest since Oct. 10. The number of ICU beds used by COVID-19 patients increased by seven overnight to 180, the second-fewest since Oct. 25.

The hospitalization data posted each morning is reported electronically the previous evening by hospitals across the state, as required under executive order.
COVID-19, the disease caused by the novel coronavirus, has no impact on some people and is seriously debilitating or fatal for others. Infected people without symptoms — which include but are not limited to cough, fever and difficulty breathing — are capable of spreading the virus.
