Police arrest woman who allegedly shot, killed husband at Phoenix home

PHOENIX — Phoenix police arrested a woman who allegedly shot and killed her husband at a Phoenix home early Sunday morning, according to authorities.
The incident occurred near Deer Valley Road and 35th Avenue around 2 a.m.
Police say a man called and said his wife had shot him and was still inside the home with his 14-year-old daughter.
Officers arrived on the scene and arrested the woman, identified Monday as 52-year-old Diane Smith. Her husband, 50-year-old Brandon S. Smith, was taken to the hospital in extremely critical condition and later died, according to authorities.
The 14-year-old daughter was not injured, according to authorities.
The investigation is ongoing.
