PHOENIX — When it comes to the decision of pizza or Asian food, one locally owned pizzeria is saying why not both?

Fast-casual pizza concept Fired Pie announced in a press release it has brought Chicago-based fast Asian street food concept Wow Bao to the Valley in a ghost kitchen format at two of its locations.

As a ghost kitchen, the new menu additions will only be available through third-party delivery services including Postmates, DoorDash, Uber Eats and Grubhub as well as catering through EzCater’s website.

“Our customers have been turning to online ordering, takeout and third-party delivery during the pandemic, so we felt this was the perfect time to launch our ghost kitchen,” Doug Doyle, Fired Pie co-owner, said in the release.

Prepared in Fired Pie’s kitchens, the Asian street food menu consists of pan-seared potstickers, steamed dumplings and bao – a fluffy steamed dough filled with savory or sweet flavors.

Other options include a Teriyaki Chicken Bowl, Spicy Kung Pao Chicken Bowl and Orange Chicken Bowl.

Bundles that can feed four to five people or larger crowds of eight to 12 people are also available.

Fired Pie plans to expand the Wow Bao ghost kitchen concert to four locations in the next month and 12 stores in the next three months, according to the release.

The pizzeria has 20 locations in the Valley, including an online and carryout location at 19th and Northern avenues in Phoenix that recently opened, as well as a Tucson location.
