PHOENIX — Two Valley charities are working together to help provide furniture to young adults and families transitioning out of homelessness.

Ronald McDonald House Charities Central and Northern Arizona is currently in the process of renovating its Roanoke House.

Instead of throwing the used furniture and household items away, local nonprofit Furnishing Dignity is removing the items and using the donation to help those in need attain furniture for their apartments and houses.

“We are beyond thrilled to be working with Ronald McDonald House Charities Central and Northern Arizona to bring the gently used furniture to families in need,” Joyce Petrowski, CEO of Furnishing Dignity, said in a press release.

“We firmly believe that by giving people a home we are helping them to build a life where they are happy, self-sufficient, and can be proud of their accomplishments.”

Furnishing Dignity said it is anticipating an increased need for their services with the recent economic impact.

The basic household goods will help to provide for multiple young adults and families in need over the coming months, the organization said.
