PHOENIX — A closure of Loop 101 in the North Valley is the only major detour for Valley freeway drivers this weekend, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
The westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be closed between Seventh Street and 27th Avenue from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday as a widening project continues.
The Northbound SR 51 ramp to westbound Loop 101 and the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Cave Creek Road are also closed.
A bit farther west in Glendale, the southbound Loop 101 Agua Fria Freeway will be narrowed to one lane overnight – with the left three lanes closed – between Thunderbird Road and Interstate 10 from 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday through Wednesday nights for crack sealing as part of pavement maintenance.
L-101 WB (Pima) will be CLOSED starting Friday night between 7th St. and 27th Avenue. Click the link for the audio version of our Weekend Travel Advisory! https://t.co/VW1GYUg8Ad #phoenix#phoenixaz #aztraffic #phxtraffic pic.twitter.com/eQshgWr4Mm

Drivers are urged to prepare for closures of on or off-ramps around the lane restriction.
Meanwhile, there will be intermittent rolling closures in both directions on the Loop 202 Santan Freeway between I-10 and Kyrene Road in Chandler from 7 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday for SRP overhead utility line work.
All I-10 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 will be closed during this time.
