1 killed, 2 injured in rollover accident on I-17 north of Phoenix

PHOENIX – One person was killed and two others injured in a single-car rollover freeway accident north of Phoenix early Thursday, authorities said.
The car carrying three crashed on northbound Interstate 17 south of New River around 3:50 a.m., the Arizona Department of Public Safety said.
The state troopers’ office said the car went off the highway, rolled to the access road then came to a stop on its roof.
One passenger was pronounced dead and another was taken to the hospital with critical injuries. The driver was hurt, but the injuries weren’t life-threatening.
No other details were immediately available.
