PHOENIX – A new concept from the family of late Phoenix food icon Tomaso Maggiore is launching soon in Scottsdale and looking to hire 100 workers.

The Italian Daughter Cucina + Cocktails will hold a job fair on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the restaurant, The Maggiore Group announced Monday.

The new concept is taking over the former home of Tomaso’s Italian Kitchen on Scottsdale Road just north of Pinnacle Peak Road.

With the opening planned for April, The Italian Daughter aims to fill a variety of positions, including kitchen managers, line cooks, servers, bartenders and hosts. Job seekers can get more information by emailing jobs@theitaliandaughter.com.

Melissa Maggiore, whose father Tomaso Maggiore died of cancer in January, is in charge of the latest addition to the family business.

“The Italian Daughter is a restaurant concept that I believe my father would have been really excited to see,” she said in a press release.

“I want people to experience the joys of our authentic Italian cuisine in an atmosphere full of music and energy. We are bringing Italian flare to Scottsdale along with the fun of live music and great food.”

Patrons will be treated to live piano music nightly while they enjoy handcrafted pasta dishes, Neapolitan pizzas and charcuterie boards.

The bar will feature Italian-inspired craft cocktails and gelato martinis along with a selection of beer and wine.

Diners can top off their evenings with desserts choices from The Maggiore Group’s other Italian concepts. The restaurant will offer to-go family meal packs among its takeout options and delivery service.

The Italian Daughter will join three other Italian concepts — Tomaso’s, The Sicilian Butcher and The Sicilian Baker — and Hash Kitchen on The Maggiore Group’s roster of metro Phoenix locations.

Tomaso Maggiore, who was born and raised in the Sicily region of Italy, opened the original Tomaso’s Italian Restaurant on Camelback Road in 1977. He went on to launch more than 50 restaurants in Arizona and California.

We want to hear from you.
