PHOENIX – Dozens of firefighters were needed to subdue a blaze that shot flames 20 feet through the roof of a central Phoenix commercial building early Thursday, authorities said.
A Phoenix Fire Department engine was called to 5314 N. Seventh St., north of Camelback Road, around 3 a.m. and encountered a burning two-story structure.
Additional units were called in, and eventually more than 50 firefighters were on the scene, the department said in a press release.
Crews pumped thousands of gallons of water per minute onto the blaze to bring it under control.
No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire, which reportedly damaged a salon and a therapy clinic, remains under investigation.
