Phoenix police investigating shooting that left a man dead

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man in the West Valley on Wednesday afternoon, according to authorities.

The incident occurred just after 3 p.m. near the intersection of Indian School Road and 67th Avenue.

Police arrived and found a man with a gunshot wound.

The man, who has not been identified, was pronounced dead at the scene, according to authorities.

Police say the preliminary investigation suggests there was a fight that escalated prior to the shooting.
