Many homeowners receiving solar energy, without panels

The number of Arizonans with solar panels is increasing, though not everyone has them installed. But it doesn’t mean their homes aren’t powered by the blazing Arizona sun.
Arizona Public Service Company, or APS, produces more than 750 megawatts of energy in its system through solar means, or enough energy to power 185,000 Arizona homes. That means even if homeowners don’t have panels installed, if they are APS customers they’re supporting the production of solar energy to power Arizona.
Additionally, the amount of energy produced by solar panels is only scheduled to increase, because of APS’s plan to make them more affordable for Arizona residents.
