NJ homeowner sues developer over rotten neighbor

Jan 7, 2014, 7:27 PM

This is the story that YOU wanted to hear us talk about! It received 64 percent of the vote in our Radioactive poll!

A woman bought a home in Mays Landing, N.J., in October 2013, but she is now suing the developer over a rude, abrasive neighbor.

Cyndee Phoenix, 53, bought the home in a Lennar Corp. planned real estate development about 19 miles west of Atlantic City, and she has had several run-ins with her neighbor across the street, according to ABC News.

Lennar is now the subject of Phoenix’s lawsuit. The woman said in her suit that the developer “knowingly concealed” information about her combative future neighbor.

Phoenix, a community outreach director for a casino, says the neighbor has directed “increasingly harassing” behavior at her family, including her mother and sister. Those incidents allegedly include: death threats to her sister, “snide and racist” comments, spitting in the direction of her family members, and calling the police on her guests.

It took only five days for Phoenix to file an official complaint on the disagreeable neighbor.

The lawsuit says she hired a security guard the day she filed the complaints.
