PHOENIX — United Cerebral Palsy of Central Arizona is opening a new facility dedicated to helping children in Phoenix on Monday.

Located near Washington and 50th streets, the facility will offer pediatric occupational, physical and speech therapy, as well as programs in pediatric feeding.

A ribbon cutting ceremony to celebrate the opening will be streamed on the organization’s Facebook page at 4 p.m.

The facility is part of Ability360, a campus which includes programs to empower people with disabilities and includes a 45,000-square-foot sports and fitness center.

“We are so excited to maximize the opportunities of being located in Ability360,” Brenda Hanserd, chief executive officer of UCP of Central Arizona, said in a press release.

“UCP Downtown – East will also provide expanded opportunities for children and families with an open outdoor area for therapies, as well as greater access to community partners who are located on-site.”

The organization’s previous downtown location, located at Seventh and Roosevelt streets, closed in mid-February. The new facility, which is six miles away, features direct access to Valley Metro Light Rail and has expanded parking.

UCP of Arizona is a nonprofit charity that offers services and programs to individuals with disabilities and their families to aid physical, developmental and educational support.

The organization impacts nearly 3,000 people with disabilities in the community, according to its website.
