Phoenix police searching for suspect in hit-and-run that left a man dead

PHOENIX — Phoenix police are searching for a suspect after a hit-and-run on Saturday night left a man dead, according to authorities.
The incident occurred around 9 p.m. near Glendale Avenue and Interstate 17.
Police arrived on the scene and found 50-year-old Robert Bennett in the road. He was transported to the hospital where he was later pronounced dead, according to authorities.
Witnesses told police Bennett stepped out onto the road to see if he could see the bus.
The vehicle — described as a light-colored, four-door sedan that could possibly be a Honda Civic – hit Bennett and kept driving westbound, according to authorities.
