The closure of I-17 this weekend is due to traffic being switched from the northbound part of the bridge to the new southbound structure as crews prepare to demolish the old northbound part of the bridge next weekend.
Those driving in north Phoenix will have to detour around a westbound Loop 101 closure between State Route 51 and Seventh Street from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement diamond grinding as a widening project continues.
The northbound SR 51 ramp to westbound Loop 101 and the westbound Loop 101 on-ramp at Cave Creek Road will both be closed.
A northbound Loop 202 off-ramp at Buckeye Road in west Phoenix will also be closed from 11:30 p.m. Friday to 8 p.m. Saturday for construction.
