In honor of Earth Day, poet explores effects of pollution in viral video

In honor of Earth Day, rapper and activist Prince Ea teamed up with StandForTrees.com to relay an important message in a way that cannot be ignored.

Ea, whose real name is Richard Williams, apologized to our future generations through a clever and touching spoken word for robbing the Earth of its natural resources for our own gain.

The video, which has been viewed over 200,000 times on YouTube and 35 million times on Facebook, demonstrated facts such as the rate of rainforest destruction worldwide — about 40 football fields every minute.

“Those who care about the planet are in fact the MAJORITY,” Ea posted on his Facebook page. “It is up to this generation to stand up and take back its future, one tree, one forest at a time.”
