1 dead, another seriously injured in shooting at Desert Sky Mall in Phoenix

PHOENIX — One person is dead and another was seriously injured after a shooting at Desert Sky Mall in Phoenix on Sunday afternoon, according to authorities.
Phoenix police responded to the mall near 75th Avenue and Thomas Road just before 12:45 p.m. and found two men with gunshot wounds.
One of the gunshot victims, 17-year-old Alejandro Martinez, died at the hospital while the other gunshot victim, a 20-year-old man who has not been named, is expected to survive.
The preliminary investigation indicates both victims went into the mall where there was an argument over merchandise with an employee at a kiosk, according to authorities.
Police say one of the men displayed a gun and then both were shot.
The employee is cooperating and police are still investigating the incident to determine exactly what happened.
No arrests have been made, according to authorities.
