PHOENIX — The Apple Watch is officially here.

While the smartwatch was only available at several boutiques in small quantities, its launch brought a handful of announcements for apps available on the device — including one from the Phoenix Suns.

The app, which will be exclusively available on the watch, will allow fans to follow their favorite teams right from their own wrist.

Fans can view roster updates and receive the upcoming season’s schedule during the NBA off-season, as well as follow score updates in real-time and view player stats during games.

Suns President Jason Rowley said the app will give fans access to the latest information on the team while incorporating this advanced technology.

“We remain committed to providing our fans with up-to-the-minute Suns information in the most accessible way possible,” Rowley said in a statement released April 24. “The launch of the new Suns app on Apple Watch accomplishes just that, and is the latest in a long line of innovative measures we have undertaken to remain at the forefront of technology.”

The app will sync with the team’s existing iPhone and iPad apps. The Suns are one of 19 NBA teams to create a custom app for the Apple Watch.

We want to hear from you.
