Superstition Fire and Medical District personnel responded to a call to assist in an animal rescue from a road sign Wednesday.
According to the SFMD Facebook page, an employee from a local animal rescue organization dialed 911 after discovering three baby owls who were stranded on the Idaho Rd. exit sign.
Under the supervision of the animal rescue organization employee, the Department of Public Safety and the SFMD were able to successfully rescue the baby owls without incident.
The birds are currently in the custody of Liberty Wildlife, who hopes to return the baby owls safely to their natural habitat.
