PHOENIX — Discount flyer Allegiant Air is adding a nonstop summer route between the Phoenix-Mesa Gateway and San Diego airports starting in May, the airline announced Tuesday.
The service will be offered beginning May 27 and run through the end of August, Allegiant said in a press release.
One-way fares will begin at $39 and flights must be purchased by Wednesday for travel through Aug. 16, according to the airline.
Las Vegas-based Allegiant last month announced that it would start offering nonstop service from Gateway to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, and back beginning June 2.
The airline has also recently added a twice-weekly route between Gateway and William P. Hobby Airport in Houston that is scheduled to start Thursday.
Allegiant is the East Valley airport’s main carrier.
