PHOENIX — Students, parents, educators and anyone else interested in tuition rates at Arizona’s public universities is invited to share their comments at public hearings on Monday, April 20. While the Arizona Board of Regents, the group that sets tuition rates, had promised to keep tuition down, the chairman has since said that state budget cuts totaling nearly $100 million went deeper than expected and will make it difficult for universities to balance their budgets. See his full written statement here.
The public hearings will run from 5-7 p.m. at the three main campus sites: Arizona State University, Northern Arizona University and University of Arizona. There will also be a hearing at branch locations. You can find details here. Comments are also accepted by emailing tuition@azregents.edu.
The Board will vote on final tuition rates at its May 4 meeting.
