Motorcycle accident in Peoria turns fatal
A serious motocycle accident that occurred Saturday has become fatal as the operator of the motorcycle has passed away due to his injuries.
The motorcyclist, Gary Allen Fisher, was a 48-year-old resident of Peoria. Preliminary investigation has indicated that Fisher stopped at a red light while heading east on Thunderbird Road at 75th Avenue. When the light turned green, Fisher is thought to have continued through the intersection, where a vehicle rear-ended him and fled the scene prior to police arriving.
A fluid trail heading north on Thunderbird Road led officers to the suspect. Alcohol was believed to be a factor in the incident. The driver was released pending blood results.
