PHOENIX — A closure and lane restrictions on a portion of Loop 101 in north Phoenix and Scottsdale are the only freeway hindrances for Valley drivers this weekend, the Arizona Department of Transportation announced Thursday.
Westbound Loop 101 will be closed between State Route 51 and Cave Creek Road from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday as a widening project continues.

A few miles east of the closure on Loop 101, drivers will face lane restrictions between 56th Street and Pima Road/Princess Drive from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for pavement diamond grinding as part of the widening project.
ADOT advises drivers to expect heavy traffic and delays around the work.
