PHOENIX – Multiple people in Glendale were attacked by bees Sunday when a homeowner tried to take down a beehive on the property.
A Glendale Fire Department spokesman said in an email that four adults and two dogs were stung by the bees that had nested on a shed in a yard near 60th and Peoria avenues.
The bee sting victims were treated at the scene and none wanted to go to the hospital, the fire department said.
The dogs also suffered minor injuries and were to be taken to the veterinarian, the homeowner told first responders.
Firefighters used foam on the bee swarm to calm it down, “for the safety of the people in the neighborhood,” according to the email.
