PHOENIX — The 67th edition of the Parada Del Sol and Trail’s End Festival in Scottsdale will not take place until 2022, the group announced last week.
“After careful consideration, the 2021 Scottsdale Parada del Sol Parade and Trail’s End Festival has been postponed,” Parada Del Sol chairman Jose Leon said in a press release.
The historic parade’s board members say they have been monitoring COVID-19 levels in the state, and do not believe it will be safe to hold the event in April as scheduled.
The theme of ‘Hats Off to Essential Workers’ honoring those who have worked during the pandemic will be saved until next year, according to the release.
The annual event, part of Scottsdale’s Western Week, was created by city leaders to bring in visitors and create business for small retail stores and hotels in Old Town Scottsdale.
