Sandy Hook mother: ‘Evil did not win’

Last December, everything changed for the Parker family.
Their eldest daughter, Emilie, was killed in the mass shooting at Sandy Hook Elementary School in Newtown, Conn. She was in first-grade.
Emilie’s mother, Alissa, explains in the video how hard it was to deal with her daughter’s death. For a while, she became convinced that evil had triumphed over good.
Then people began offering support — letters, gifts, prayers. The Parkers used that positive energy to not only move past Emilie’s death, but to create great things out of a tragic situation.
In Alissa’s words, “Evil did not win” after all.
