Celebrities who auditioned for ‘The Office’ but didn’t make the cut

“The Office” boosted the careers of several Hollywood stars during the show’s eight-year run on NBC. But you’d be surprised who tried out for the show, and failed.
A recent YouTube video shows unseen audition tapes of actors Adam Scott (“Parks and Recreation”), Seth Rogen (“Knocked Up”), John Cho (“Harold and Kumar”), Eric Stonestreet (“Modern Family”), Kathryn Hahn (“Crossing Jordan”) and Bob Odenkirk (“Mr. Show with Bob and David”).
According to Slate, Odenkirk was originally cast as Michael Scott — that is, until Steve Carell stole the role.
The clips will be included in the special features section of “The Office” season 9 DVD, releasing Sept. 3.
