Valley drivers to face weekend closures on Loop 101 and Loop 202

PHOENIX — A section of the Loop 101 Pima Freeway and some portions of the Loop 202 Santan Freeway are scheduled to be closed this weekend for various projects, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Eastbound Loop 101 between Seventh Street and State Route 51 in north Phoenix will be closed from 10 p.m. Friday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.
In the East Valley, all Interstate 10 ramps to eastbound Loop 202 and the southbound Loop 101 ramp to westbound Loop 202 will be closed from 7 p.m. Saturday to 4 a.m. Sunday and from 9 p.m. Sunday to 3 a.m. Monday for overhead power line installation.
The Sunday night closure is on an “if necessary” basis.

Some portions of the Loop 202 will also be closed intermittently between Kyrene Road and McClintock Drive starting after 10 p.m. on Saturday, which are expected to last up to 15 minutes each time.
Drivers will also face select lane closure on Interstate 17 near downtown Phoenix. The two left northbound lanes and one left southbound lane between the Interstate 10 “Stack” interchange and McDowell Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for barrier wall repairs.
ADOT is asking for drivers to use caution when approaching the work zone, slow down and stay alert for crews and equipment.
