PHOENIX – Two men who were arrested in Nevada face murder charges in Arizona over the shooting death of a woman in Scottsdale last month, authorities said Thursday.
The Scottsdale Police Department also identified the victim as 53-year-old Andrea Marina Garcia for the first time. Police said in a press release they’d been withholding her identity to “maintain the integrity of the investigation.”
Adrian Arthur Espinosa and Jose Antonio Beltran, both 30, were taken into custody in Las Vegas in mid-December and extradited to Arizona, police said.
The men were charged with first-degree murder and other felonies, police said. According to court records, they were indicted by a grand jury in Arizona on Dec. 29.
Police responded to reports of a shooting at a house near Thunderbird Road and the Loop 101 Pima Freeway on the afternoon of Dec. 8 and found the victim.
Scottsdale police didn’t announce any other details about the case at the time.
