PHOENIX – Nearly a dozen garbage trucks were damaged when six caught fire early Sunday in Scottsdale, first responders said.

Scottsdale Fire Department said crews arrived at the city’s North Corporation Yard near Via Linda and Pima Freeway Loop 101 to find the trucks, fueled by compressed natural gas, burning.

Another four trucks were involved in the incident at the vehicle maintenance site.

A hazmat team eventually determined the tanks on the truck were no longer leaking, according to a fire department social media post.

A crew from the Phoenix Fire Department assisted in putting out the flames.

There were no injuries.

Cause of the fire is under investigation.

No other details were available.
