Valley nonprofit benefitting seniors seeks supplies for holiday influx

PHOENIX — The Foundation for Senior Living said in a press release Monday it is seeking a variety of items in preparation for an influx of requests during the holiday season due to the coronavirus pandemic.
The nonprofit is asking for donations of non-perishable foods and cleaning and personal hygiene items for its pantries throughout Arizona.
“Since the pandemic, we have been doing meal deliveries to seniors and adults with disabilities,” Carolyn Campbell, director of housing, said in the release.
“Last year, through our network of community food pantries, we distributed over 460,000 pounds of non-perishable foods and other pantry items. We are seeing a 45 percent increase in nutrition requests this year and know it will continue for the next few months.”

Donations can be made through the organization’s Amazon wish list or the items can be dropped off at the corporate office at 1201 East Thomas Road in Phoenix.
The office is open from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Established in 1974, The Foundation for Senior Living is one of the largest nonprofit organizations in the state with the mission of providing housing and social services to elders, individuals with disabilities and their caregivers.
