PHOENIX – It won’t be a white Christmas for Phoenix but it will be one that’s warmer than normal.

The National Weather Service is predicting temperatures will reach the low to mid 70s for most of the week in the city.

That trend will disappear by Wednesday as cooler and breezier conditions are expected to pick up by mid-week.

On Thursday, it’s forecasted to be mostly sunny with a high around 64 degrees with temperatures expected to drop to around 42 degrees at night.

By Christmas Day, the high is forecasted to be in the high 60s with some light winds in the afternoon.

The evening will feature mostly clear skies with a low around 42 degrees.

The Flagstaff-area will also experience above-normal temperatures earlier in the week with highs in the low 50s, but a dry cold front will bring colder weather on Wednesday.

For Friday, the high temperature will settle around 45 degrees with mostly sunny weather.

If you’re looking to hit the slopes for the holiday, Snow Bowl continues to open more trails and lifts. As of Sunday, there were seven open lifts and 15 open trails.

Access to the mountain is first-come, first-serve basis. Updates on lift ticket availability, capacity, road and weather conditions can be found on the Arizona Snowbowl Updates Twitter page.

We want to hear from you.
