PHOENIX — A local seventh-grader was selected as Santa’s top elf in the second season of the Nickelodeon television show “Top Elf” Friday night, earning $25,000 for charity and a holly-jolly vacation.

Bali Bare competed against six other contestants from around the country in holiday-themed challenges focusing on design, building, creativity and holiday cheer, according to a press release.

The aspiring actress, model, singer, fashion designer, inventor and entrepreneur took home the prize by turning Santa’s sleigh into a sunken ship for a holiday-inspired music video in the season finale.

Bare is donating the prize money to Miracle League of Arizona, where both her brother and cousin who have special needs play baseball, according to the release.

She also won a trip to the Nickelodeon Resort in the Dominican Republic.

Other challenges in the show included building a life-size countdown calendar, designing treat carts, creating a scenic 3D pop-up experience and giving Santa a high-tech makeover.

Bare would integrate her favorite parts of Arizona into the projects, according to the release, bringing a piece of the desert to the north pole.

We want to hear from you.
