Phoenix firefighters battle large fire at abandoned office building

PHOENIX — Fire crews battled a large fire with heavy smoke in Phoenix after an abandoned office building went up in flames Friday afternoon.
The Phoenix Fire Department was called to a building near 16th Street and Highland Avenue around 1 p.m. after reports of smoke coming from the second floor.
Firefighters worked on ladder trucks to attack the blaze from above while also establishing a ground attack.
A nearby office complex with 20 employees inside was evacuated as a precaution.
No injuries were reported.
No other information was made immediately available.
An investigation into the cause of the fire is underway.
