Arizona state trooper shot at during traffic stop in Phoenix

PHOENIX — An Arizona Department of Public Safety trooper was shot at by a bystander during a traffic stop in Phoenix early Friday morning, authorities said.
The incident occurred around 12:30 a.m. near 27th Avenue and McDowell Road, according to the Phoenix Police Department.
The trooper was conducting a traffic stop when a man standing across the street shot at him, police said.
The trooper and the driver in the traffic stop did not suffer any injuries during the incident.
Police have charged 33-year-old Victor Manuel Zuniga with aggravated assault and weapons violations charges, authorities said.
An investigation into the incident is ongoing.
