FBI publishing posters in Navajo language, hopes to solve more cases

PHOENIX — The Federal Bureau of Investigation has started publishing posters in the Navajo language in an effort to broaden the possibility of the public assisting in homicide and missing-person investigations on or near the Navajo Nation.
The FBI has put out 13 posters in Diné since March and more are expected as additional cases are identified.
The posters include photographs, details of incidents, descriptions and rewards.
“These poster translations help us not only connect with the community, but they provide us with one more avenue to solicit information that can help solve these crimes and bring the perpetrators to justice,” Sean Kaul, special agent in charge of the Phoenix FBI division, said in a press release.
“We will continue to work with all our federal, state, local and tribal partners to protect all of our communities.”

Ten of the posters are seeking a homicide suspect while the other three are for missing persons.
The FBI is asking anyone with information on the cases to call its office in charge of the Navajo Nation at 623-466-1999.
Individuals can also submit tips online.
