PHOENIX — The tourism agency Visit Mesa has launched the new Fresh Foodie Trail GeoTour with Geocaching HQ at various farms in the East Valley.

The Fresh Foodie Trail features a total of eight stops where treasure hunters can collect a limited-edition series of stickers along the way.

A few of those stops include Steadfast Farms, Jalapeno Buck’s, True Garden Urban Farm and other farms in the area.

Those who manage to find all 10 geocaches will win an assortment of prizes.

Prizes feature a digital souvenir from Geocaching’s website, a Fresh Foodie Trail recipe booklet and a branded wooden spoon from the tourism agency.

Since launching its first GeoTour over a year ago, Mesa officials said there have been over 2,100 logs representing visitors from seven countries.

The tourism bureau is also still managing the Autism Certified City GeoTour, which is a collection of geocaches that are located at many of Mesa’s participating Certified Autism Center and city parks.

More information on Mesa’s geocaching tour can be found online.

December is also the final month for Arizona residents to book an Escape to Mesa vacation package.

Arizonans who book a two-night or more stay in a Mesa hotel will receive $150 in incentives that will be redeemed after checking in.

Below is a list of all eight stops on the Fresh Foodie Trail GeoTour:

  1. Jalapeno Bucks BBQ
  2. True Garden Urban Farm
  3. Vertuccio Farm
  4. Schnepf Farms
  5. Queen Creek Olive Mill (two geocaches)
  6. Agritopia
  7. Barnone at Agritopia
  8. Steadfast Farms

We want to hear from you.
