Weekend drivers face nightly closures on I-10 for tunnel maintenance

PHOENIX – Portions of Interstate 10 near downtown Phoenix will face incremental closures this weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Eastbound I-10 will be closed between the Interstate 17 “stack” interchange and the State Route 51/ Loop 202 interchange from 9 p.m. Friday to 9 a.m. Saturday for tunnel maintenance.
Westbound I-10 will be closed from the I-17 “split” interchange near Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport and Seventh Avenue from 9 p.m. Saturday to 9 a.m. Sunday for tunnel maintenance.
In north Phoenix, eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway will be narrowed to two lanes overnight between Cave Creek Road and SR 51 from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday to Thursday nights for a widening project.
Additionally, the eastbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway on-ramp at 19th Avenue and eastbound off-ramp at Seventh Avenue will be closed for around 60 days starting Sunday at 10 p.m.
