PHOENIX — There will be no scheduled closures or restrictions on metro Phoenix freeways for the second consecutive weekend, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
Winter is typically a slower time for construction projects in the Valley because of the cooler temperatures.
Last weekend, there were no closures during the Thanksgiving holiday.
Some projects are ongoing and ADOT says to remain alert for possible restrictions in existing work zones.
Good news! No full freeway closures are scheduled along Phoenix area freeways this weekend (Dec. 4-7) for construction or maintenance work. Check the AZ 511 app or https://t.co/BnFvGaRiId before you leave to see if there are any other incidents happening. #PhxTraffic pic.twitter.com/f0DZZwTpbs

Drivers should also avoid distractions or impairments when on Valley freeways.
There were 358 people arrested on suspicion of DUI from Wednesday to Saturday of the holiday weekend. That number is up from 330 arrests made last year during the same period.
ADOT also reminds motorists to bring a mask and follow public health guidelines with the coronavirus pandemic raging on.
