PHOENIX — With more people shopping online this holiday season, “porch pirates” will continue to pose a large threat.

Silent Witness announced on Wednesday that it will be offering rewards Valley-wide now through Christmas Day to anyone who can provide information of people suspected of stealing packages that leads to an arrest.

These thefts are often classified as misdemeanors and will now be eligible for up to a $250 cash reward.

Silent Witness usually offers rewards for arrests in felony crimes.

A key piece to catching package thieves is a police report from the victim with video or identifying information detectives can work off, Silent Witness Sgt. Jamie Rothschild said in a press release.

All tipsters will remain anonymous.

Anyone with a tip should call Silent Witness at 480-938-6377 or submit it online.

We want to hear from you.
