North Phoenix drivers face I-17, Loop 101 restrictions this weekend

PHOENIX – Drivers in north Phoenix will face restriction on Interstate 17 as work on the new diverging diamond interchange continues, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.
All of the I-17 on- and off-ramps at Happy Valley Road will be closed from 9 p.m. Friday to 5 p.m. Saturday as crews work to open additional lanes on the interchange.
Happy Valley Road will also be closed in both directions between 23rd and 29th avenues.
Next, the westbound Loop 101 Pima Freeway with be closed overnight at 56th Street from 9 p.m Sunday to 5 a.m. Monday for a widening project.
Finally, the southbound I-17 on-ramp at Seventh Street will be closed overnight from 9 p.m. to 5 a.m. Sunday to Tuesday nights for soil sample collection ahead of future construction projects.
