PHOENIX — Phoenix isn’t done setting daily heat records this year.

The mercury reached 97 degrees at about 1:30 p.m. on Thursday, making it the hottest November day in the city’s history.

Previously, the record high for the month was 96 and had been reached Sunday and also in 2009.

The high ended up reaching 99 degrees for the day.

Phoenix also hit 95 degrees at about 12:30 p.m. on Thursday, which broke the previous daily high mark of 93 degrees set in 2007.

Phoenix will be in for a cold front by the start of the weekend, however.

Friday’s high is expected to be 93 degrees, but that will drop to 74 on Saturday before dipping to 68 for Sunday’s high.

Phoenix is coming off the hottest meteorological summer on record, which includes June, July and August.

Between June and August, Phoenix reported 50 days with a high temperature of at least 110 degrees, surpassing the record of 33 days set in 2011.

2020 has also seen the most 100-degree days in Phoenix in a calendar year.

We want to hear from you.
