PHOENIX — Banner Health opened a hospital in Chandler on Monday, the first new one for Arizona’s largest health care provider since 2010.

Banner Ocotillo Medical Center will offer a variety of services such as emergency care, intensive care, and women and infant services, including labor and delivery.

The four-story, 240,000-square-foot facility has 124 patient beds and is anticipating handling about 21,000 emergency visits per year.

“We are so excited to open this beautiful new hospital to serve Chandler and surrounding communities,” Laura Robertson, CEO of Banner Ocotillo, said in a press release.

“I’m proud and honored to be leading and working alongside an experienced, patient-centered team of health professionals, many of whom live in Chandler and are now able to work here, too.”

Banner Ocotillo also has a handful of safety and technology features, notably robotic surgeries, UV-disinfecting lights and monitored hand-hygiene stations.

Banner Ocotillo is located on the southeast corner of Alma School Road and the Loop 202 San Tan Freeway.

Banner Health has 30 hospital locations spread across six states.
