PHOENIX — Two Valley residents died following an airplane crash about 70 miles north of Phoenix, authorities said Monday.
The Yavapai County Sheriff’s Office said it located the non-commerical aircraft about 5.5 miles southeast of Cordes Lake at about 12:15 p.m.
The plane was found upside down on its wings with the two occupants dead inside, YCSO said.
The victims were identified as 34-year-old William Engel Bell of Peoria and his 8-year-old daughter, Amira Caballero.
The plane was believed to be en route to Page from Deer Valley Airport on Saturday and never reached its destination.
Arizona Department of Transportation troopers had been searching for the aircraft since Sunday, when Bell and Caballero were reported missing.
The National Transportation Safety Board will handle the investigation into the incident.
