PHOENIX – Drivers using two major Valley freeways this week will have to contend with overnight ramp closures for scheduled bridge inspections, according to the Arizona Department of Transportation.

ADOT will close ramps at the Interstate 10 and Interstate 17 “Stack” interchange in Phoenix from Monday to Thursday.

The westbound I-10 ramp to northbound I-17 will be closed from 9 p.m. Monday to 5 a.m. Tuesday.

Drivers can use northbound 19th Avenue to westbound McDowell Road to reach westbound I-10.

Next, the westbound I-10 ramp to southbound I-17 will be closed from 9 p.m. Tuesday to 5 a.m. Wednesday. The southbound I-17 on-ramp south of McDowell Road will also be closed during this time.

As a detour, drivers can exit to southbound 19th Avenue and use westbound Adams Street or Buckeye Road to reach southbound I-17.

If necessary, ADOT will have this same closure from 9 p.m. Thursday to 5 a.m. Friday.

Two ramps will be closed overnight Wednesday into Thursday.

The westbound I-10 ramp to southbound I-17 will be closed from 9 p.m. Wednesday to 3 a.m. Thursday. I-10 traffic can exit exit at 19th Avenue and then use Adams Street or Buckeye Road to reach southbound I-17.

The northbound I-17 ramp to eastbound I-10 is scheduled to close just before midnight Wednesday and reopen at 4 a.m. I-17 traffic can detour by exiting at Adams and taking the access road to eastbound Van Buren Street or exiting at McDowell Road and going east to 19th Avenue and south to I-10.

ADOT says schedules are subject to change due to inclement weather or other factors.
