Frank Lloyd Wright’s Taliesin West to reopen in Scottsdale mid-October

PHOENIX – A landmark home and school established in Scottsdale by famed architect Frank Lloyd Wright will resume public tours this month, operators announced Wednesday.

Taliesin West will reopen Oct. 15 with coronavirus safety protocols that include mask requirements indoors and outdoors for staff and visitors, social distancing and smaller groups, the Frank Lloyd Wright Foundation said.

Another health-safety change features self-guided audio tours that can be accessed through personal smartphones.

The site near Frank Lloyd Wright Boulevard and Cactus Road closed in March because of the pandemic.

“We are incredibly excited to welcome visitors safely back to Taliesin West, especially during this time when Frank Lloyd Wright’s inspiring work is needed most,” Kevin Conley, vice president of public engagement for the foundation, said in an online announcement.

Taliesin West was named to the UNESCO’s World Heritage Site in 2019.
